Arranged marriage practices are influencing and effecting cultures around the world. With marriage being different around the world, arranged marriages are apparent in other cultures. Arranged marriages are most commonly found in eastern-based cultures. In these cultures, arranged marriages are not the same as arranged marriages in India, but there are certain aspects that are similar.
Moreover, there are common values and aspects that are found in westernized cultures as well. Although, arranged marriage is not commonly apparent in western culture, there are certain values that are important in arranged marriage practices and love marriage practices.
Between arranged marriage practices in eastern-based cultures and similar marriage values in western-based cultures, one apparent commonality is the importance of family. Parents play a huge role in determining their child’s spouse in arranged marriage, while majority of people in western-culture value their parents’ and family’s approval in who they marry. The value of family is apparent throughout marriage practices and customs throughout the world.
